Ingredients
- 8 slices store-bought garlic bread
- 8 tablespoons marinara sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon shredded Parmesan cheese
- ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
Optional Toppings:
- Sliced tomatoes and fresh basil for Margherita pizza toast
- Pepperoni slices for pepperoni pizza toast
Instructions
Preheat the oven:
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
Toast the bread:
- Arrange 8 slices of garlic bread on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes, flipping once, until the bread is lightly toasted and golden.
Add sauce and cheese:
- Spread 1 tablespoon of marinara sauce onto each toasted slice. Evenly sprinkle 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese over all slices.
Add toppings:
- Customize each slice with your desired toppings, such as pepperoni slices or thinly sliced tomatoes. For Margherita-style toast, leave off the basil for now.
Bake the pizzas:
- Return the toast to the oven and bake for 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Add Parmesan and broil:
- Sprinkle each slice with 1 tablespoon shredded Parmesan cheese and ¼ teaspoon dried oregano. Broil for 1-2 minutes until the edges are crispy and golden brown.
Add fresh herbs:
- Garnish Margherita pizza toast with fresh basil, and pepperoni pizza toast with chopped parsley.
Cool and serve:
- Let the pizza toast cool on the pan for 5-10 minutes. Serve warm and enjoy!
