Ingredients
- 8 ounces Italian turkey sausage links
- 2 cups whole fresh mushrooms
- 2 cups cherry tomatoes
- 1 medium onion cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 large green pepper cut into 1-inch pieces
- 30 slices turkey pepperoni about 2 ounces
- 1 tube 13.8 ounces refrigerated pizza crust
- 1 ½ cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
- 1 ¼ cups pizza sauce warmed
Instructions
Prep and Skewer Ingredients:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cook 8 ounces of turkey sausage in a nonstick skillet over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain, let cool, and cut into bite-sized pieces.
- On skewers, alternate threading sausage, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, onion, green pepper, and turkey pepperoni, creating colorful and flavorful kabobs.
Wrap with Dough:
- Roll out 1 tube of pizza dough on a floured surface and slice it into thin strips.
- Spiral-wrap each strip around the skewer, securing the ingredients while keeping them visible. Repeat with all skewers.
Bake and Garnish:
- Place the skewers on a greased baking sheet.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the vegetables are tender.
- Sprinkle 1 ½ cups of shredded mozzarella cheese over the hot kabobs, letting it melt slightly.
