Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds sirloin steak or boneless beef chuck roast sliced thin
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 4 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 4 teaspoons water
  • 1 12-ounce bag frozen broccoli florets
  • Cooked white rice for serving, if desired

Instructions
 

Prepare the Sauce:

  • In a slow cooker, whisk together 1 cup beef broth, ½ cup soy sauce, ¼ cup brown sugar, 1 teaspoon sesame oil, and 3 minced garlic cloves.

Cook the Beef:

  • Add the sliced beef to the slow cooker and toss to coat in the sauce.
  • Cover and cook on Low for 5 hours, until the beef is tender.

Thicken the Sauce:

  • In a small bowl, mix 4 teaspoons cornstarch with 4 teaspoons water until smooth.
  • Stir the mixture into the slow cooker to thicken the sauce.

Add the Broccoli:

  • Stir in the frozen broccoli florets.
  • Cover and cook for an additional 30 minutes, until the broccoli is tender but still vibrant.
