- 2 cups vegetable broth* * You can substitute with chicken broth for a richer flavor.
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
- 1/4 tsp fish sauce optional
- 1 green onion thinly sliced (white and green parts separated)
- 10 frozen dumplings** ** Use any variety of dumplings, such as vegetable, chicken, or pork.
- 1/2 cup fresh spinach*** *** Baby spinach works well, but other greens like bok choy or kale can be used.
Optional Garnishes
- 1/2 tsp sesame seeds
- 1 Tbsp Sichuan chili crisp
Build the Broth
In a medium pot, combine 2 cups of vegetable broth, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of toasted sesame oil, and the white parts of the sliced green onion. If desired, add 1/4 teaspoon of fish sauce for extra depth of flavor. Additional ingredients like pre-cooked proteins or hearty vegetables can also be included at this stage.
Cook the Dumplings
